Yuletide: Engineer Sule urges Christians to emulate Christ’s virtues
As Christian faithful celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has urged Christians to emulate the virtues of Christ symbolizing love, peace, humility and dignity for the human race.
Engineer Sule made the call in a Christmas message he personally signed and issued on Tuesday in Lafia.
According to the Governor, and as Christians celebrate the feast of Christmas, the moment called for sober reflection, as well as the reaffirmation of the high moral rectitude as epitomized by Jesus Christ.
He further called on all Christians in the state and in diaspora to imbibe the spirit and teachings of the festive period by showing love, affection and sharing of alms with one another at all times as decreed by the Holy Books.
The Governor equally urged Christian faithful to utilize the sacred period, which he said, symbolizes immense blessings, to continue to pray for the sustenance of peace and prosperity of the country.
“It is on this premise that I call on you all to take advantage of this ample opportunity to pray for the peace, unity, harmonious co-existence, security and prosperity of our dear State and the country at large,” Engineer urged Christians.
While enjoining them to be steadfast, prayerful, as well as avoiding extravagance and ostentatious lifestyle, Engineer Sule called on all road users to be cautious and considerate by obeying traffic rules and regulations in order to ensure safety on the roads throughout the festive season.
He called on citizens of the state to continue to support the effort of his administration in its commitment to improve the living standard of the people while reiterating that government has made adequate arrangements to ensure security of lives and property during the yuletide season.
Engineer Sule then wished Christians in the state and the country at large merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
