Gov. Matawalle Revokes All Farmland Titles In Zamfara

The Zamfara State Governor, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle has revoked all farmlands titles/allocations that were made in the State from 1999 to date.
The Governor’s action became necessary in order to address the issues of insecurity arising from farmers/herders conflicts strongly believed to be connected with the allocations of farmlands in grazing reserves, along cattle routes and also in forests reserves.
This is contained in statement signed by the Director General Press Affairs office of the Executive Governor, Yusuf Idris and made available to newsmen in Gusau.
Governor Matawalle also approved the constitution of an Investigation Committee with a view to resolve the conflicts caused directly or indirectly by the farmlands allocations in the State.
According to him, new allocations will be made immediately after the committee reviews and submits its report to the Government.
“Composition of the committee members will soon be made public. The revocation of the farmlands titles/allocations is with Immediate effect from today Friday 29th November, 2019 and all affected persons are hereby advised to comply with the government directives.” He said.
The Governor assured people of the State of his administration’s resolve to end the all insecurity situation in the State.
Matawalle also appreciated the support and cooperation his administration is getting from the people of the State and promised not failed them.
