Ganduje leaves for US

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has left Nigeria for Seattle, United States of America to meet with Dangote Foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and officials of the French government, for a scheduled meeting on education and water supply.
Kano Focus reports that Mr Ganduje will be out of the country for a period of 10 days. While away, the Deputy Governor Nasiru Gawuna will be the acting governor for the period.
A statement issued on Thursday by Abba Anwar, Chief Press Secretary to Mr Ganduje said, all ministries, departments and agencies are directed to work harmoniously with the acting governor.
The statement added that governor’s meeting with the foundations will be on the development of education in the state.
Issues to do with accessibility, conducive environment for teaching and learning, as well as quality control, are some of the major areas to be discussed at the proposed meeting.
According to the statement, governments, development partners and organizations have appreciated the free and compulsory primary and secondary education policy of the Ganduje administration.
“The meeting would go a long way in improving education at levels of the administration, ensuring that, many good things are coming to our dear state. And we are assuring people that, our resolve to take the state to higher level is determined with all sense of responsibility.
“While away, Ganduje will also engage in touching the other area of water supply for the overall development of the state. Issues surrounding water industry that will improve the overall system, will be discussed at the high powered meeting,” the statement added.
